Longstock Park Nursery, part of the Leckford Estate owned and managed by Waitrose, lies within Hampshire's picturesque Test Valley. The nursery is set in and around a brick and flint walled garden, and is home to National Collections of Buddleja and Clematis viticella and the Gilchrist Collection of Penstemon. Our aim is to supply a wide range of good quality, often unusual, hardy plants.
A visit to the nursery to view our stock and see the 80 metre herbaceous border, with its clematis and fruit tree archway, is a must for any garden lover throughout the year. A selection of our plants can be seen growing in and around the nursery and there is a marvellous display of naturalised bulbs, snowdrops, daffodils and bluebells along the driveway in early spring.
Adjoining the nursery is our 70 acre arboretum which leads to our world famous water garden, a beautiful seven acre woodland garden with lakes and interconnecting islands. The arboretum and water garden is only open on selected dates through the year.

We specialise in hardy shrubs, climbers, perennials and aquatics. This includes an extensive range of buddlejas, clematis, penstemons, and old-fashioned roses, as well as ferns, alpines and herbs. We also stock a wide range of trees, both ornamental and fruiting, and large specimens for instant effect. From November to March we offer a comprehensive range of bare-root hedging plants and during December cut and potted Christmas trees.
We grow a proportion of our stock from plant material in and around the nursery or water garden, especially those plants which are difficult to obtain.
There is a wide range of fibre-clay, terracotta and stone pots to choose from. We stock a selection of iron plant supports, obelisks, arches and arbours produced by a local craftsman; these can also be custom made to your own requirements. We also sell a variety of composts as well as sterilised mushroom compost to bag yourself! Our shop is well stocked with various garden accessories, as well as free-range eggs, honey and apple juice produced on the Leckford Estate.
At the nursery our experienced staff are always happy to advise you on selection and availability of plants. We can also arrange for staff to visit your garden and provide individual advice.
Please contact us if you have a specific request, as we will always endeavour to obtain plants that we do not normally stock.
