Acidulated water

Water to which some form of acid, usually lemon juice, is added. Acidulated water is mainly used to prevent peeled and chopped fruits such as apples or pears from turning brown when exposed to the air - simply add a squeeze of lemon juice to a bowl of water and add the prepared fruit, leave until ready to cook or serve.
