Chopping board

Chopping board

A solid board usually made from wood or plastic, to chop ingredients on eg chop the carrots on a chopping board and add to the pan. Chopping boards vary in size and shape. Wooden chopping boards are the traditional type but plastic boards are more hygienic as they are not absorbent.

Plastic chopping boards also have the advantage over wooden boards in that they can be washed in a dishwasher. Always use separate boards for raw and ready to eat foods.
