Brazil nuts

Brazil nuts

These large dark brown skinned nuts have a creamy white interior and a sweet, milky flavour. The majority of nuts are harvested from wild trees rather than from plantations. The fruit from the Brazil tree are similar in shape and appearance to a coconut, and each one contains up to 20 nuts. Waitrose sell Brazil Nuts, Organic Whole Brazils and Brazil Nut Kernels. Chocolate covered Brazil nuts are also available.

Uses: Brazils are a popular choice for decorating fruit cakes, they can be used in baking and also be eaten simply as a dessert nut.

To store: Keep in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
