Chapatti

Chapatti

This traditional Indian 'bread' is made from finely ground wholemeal flour (also known as chapatti flour) and water. They are thin dough rounds that are heated before serving.

Uses: Chapattis are served as an accompaniment to main dishes and are often used to scoop up meat and vegetables. They can also be stuffed with a savoury filling and rolled up.

To use: Chapattis should be sprinkled with water before heating, either bake for 3-4 minutes at 180°C, gas mark 4 or grill for 30 seconds on each side.
