Puppodums

Puppodums

These are traditional round Indian crispbreads (usually about 8-12cm in diameter) made from flour and fried in oil until crisp. Ready-to-eat plain or red chilli & cumin puppodums and ready-to-cook plain puppodums are available

Uses: Puppodums are served in India at the end of or with a meal - spicier puppodums are served with milder dishes and plain puppodums with hotter dishes. In the West they are served in restaurants at the beginning of the meal, often accompanied by pickles and raita (yogurt with cucumber and mint).

To store: Keep in a cool dry place and once opened store in an airtight container and use within 2 days.

To use: Ready-to-eat puppodums can be serve cold or warm - to heat place them on a baking tray and heat in a preheated oven at 150°C, gas mark 2 for 4 minutes. To cook ready-to-cook puppodums deep fry or microwave following the packet instructions.
