Party Nibbles 2- Cheese Twists

Perfect for that extra crunch this Festive Season.
  • Total time: 20 minutes (Cooking and preparing)

Serves: 6

Ingredients

INGREDIENTS:
  1. Shop bought/ Home-made Shortcrust Pastry
  2. Cheddar Cheese- 25-30g
  3. 1 Egg (To egg wash the twists)
  4. Butter to grease the Baking Tray
EQUIPMENT:
  1. 1 Baking Tray
  2. Grater
  3. Pastry Brush

Method

Pre-heat the oven to 180'C.

Mark Cut the pastry length-ways and roll each individual piece of pastry until it goes into a cylinder with floured hands. If the cylinders get too long you may want to cut them in half considering they're nibbles.
Next twist two of the cylinders of pastry together and pinch the ends so they stay twisted. Repeat with all cylinders of pastry.
Lay all the twists on the lightly greased baking tray.
Then egg-wash all the twists and sprinkle the grated cheese all over the top. Add as much or as little as you want! It's your food!
Put the Cheese Twists in the pre-heated oven for 10-15 minutes, checking regularly. Only take out when they are golden brown and look crispy. Maybe make one as a tester in case you get it wrong!
Put on a tray or in a glass for people to pick out as they are going along. With all these nibbles, I would think that your party will be a success!!
