- 225g strawberries
- 1 orange
- 2 medium egg whites
- 100g caster sugar
- Waitrose Soft Sponge Flan Case
- Approx 250ml Waitrose Organic Vanilla Ice cream
- 2 tbsp flaked almonds
Strawberry Baked Alaska
- Hull and slice 225g strawberries and pour over juice of 1 orange. Whisk 2 medium egg whites until stiff, then gradually whisk in 100g caster sugar. Spoon fruit and juice over a Waitrose Soft Sponge Flan Case, set on an ovenproof plate or baking sheet.
- Top with scoops of Waitrose Organic Vanilla Ice Cream (half a 500ml tub). Swirl the meringue over the top to seal filling. Scatter over 2 tbsp flaked almonds. Bake for 5 minutes in a preheated oven 200°C, gas mark 6, until golden. Serve immediately.
