The Pastas of Redemption


  • Smoked Mackerel Fusilli
  • 100g wholewheat fusilli
  • 2 tbsp sweetcorn kernels
  • Olive oil
  • 1 flaked fillet of smoked mackerel
  • 1/2 a red pepper
  • 2 tbsp natural yogurt
  • Juice of 1/2 a lemon
  • 1tsp grain mustard
  • Tomato and Feta Cheese Spaghetti
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 100g wholemeal spaghetti
  • 3 tomatoes
  • 2 tsp red wine vinegar
  • Torn basil leaves
  • Chopped olives
  • 100g cubed feta


  1. Smoked Mackerel Fusilli
  2. Pasta boosts energy and oily fish helps liver function. Cook 100g wholewheat fusilli, drain and toss with a little olive oil. Add a flaked fillet of smoked mackerel, half a chopped red pepper, and 2 tbsp sweetcorn kernels. Season and serve, or dress with 2 tbsp natural yogurt, mixed with the juice of half a lemon and seasoned with1 tsp grain mustard.
  3. Tomato and Feta Cheese Spaghetti
  4. While cooking 100g wholemeal spaghetti, marinate 3 chopped, fresh tomatoes with 1 tbsp olive oil, 2 tsp red wine vinegar and a few torn basil leaves. When the spaghetti is cooked, stir in the tomatoes, a handful of chopped olives and about 100g cubed Feta. Eat straight from the pan.
