Lunch Box

Take a trip to Waitrose where you'll find a range of salads, snacks, soups and sandwiches. Here we bring you three different ideas for lunch

Vegetarian

As you can imagine, vegetarians are well catered for at Waitrose. Enjoy something a bit different with the wide range of salads, either from the chilled cabinet or the deli counter, and serve with a few organic treats:

Couscous with Roasted Vegetable Salad with Sunblush Tomato and Mozzarella Salad from the deli counter. Serve with piccolo ciabatta or focaccia roll (you need to buy four but take the rest home and freeze); Waitrose Organic Roasted and Salted Cashews. For pudding try Waitrose Chocolate Mousse; Organic Dried Apricots in a resealable pack (great for snacks); Copella Pressed Apple Juice.

Treat yourself lunch

On the days when you feel like splashing out and treating yourself, try the following selection. All you need is a knife, fork and spoon. Disposable cups and plates are easy, but you could always use the real thing

Marine Gourmet Morecambe Bay Potted Shrimps: turn the shrimps out of their pot and serve on a plate with a leafy salad and a petit pain or Granary roll from the bread department. If you don't want to eat off a plate, simply split the roll and spread with the potted shrimps. Add salad and eat. Serve with Kettle Chips Sea Salt and Crushed Black Pepper Crisps; Individual Pecan Pie from the pâtisserie counter; Green & Black's Organic Dark Chocolate Bar; 25cl bottle well chilled Waitrose Elderflower Spring.

Healthy lunch

It's easy to find a satisfying, well-balanced meal if you fancy a change from a sandwich. Try ready-made snack salads or a flavour-packed soup

Waitrose Fresh Soup: the varieties change with the season. Waitrose now sells individual pots of fresh soup. Tomato & Basil is a good choice. Heat it in the office microwave or take it in a flask. Serve with a Granary roll but no butter; Vegetable Crudites (cut 1 small carrot and ½ red pepper into strips); ½ tub Fresh Dip Company Reduced Fat Guacamole; Punnet fresh blueberries with Rachel's Organic Very Low Fat Live Yogurt; P and J Apple, Grape and Blackcurrant Smoothie.
