Know our signs

On some of our own-label packaging we use icons, for instance to show a product contains wholegrain, or is rich in Omega 3. Read on to find out what each of these icons symbolise.

5 a day Enjoy 5 portions of fruit and vegetable a day as part of a healthy lifestyle. (Each white dot on icon represents 1 portion of fruit or vegetables.) 80g of fresh, frozen or canned fruit or vegetable constitutes 1 portion. 25g dried fruit constitutes one portion. Fruit and vegetables (fresh, frozen and canned), prepared vegetables, prepared fruit, fruit Juices, dried fruit, fresh vegetable soups
Omega 3 Omega 3 fats are essential to health and well-being.

Must contain Omega 3 at one of the following levels:

  • 1.5g Omega 3 per serving weekly (rich)
  • 0.5g Omega 3 per serving weekly (source)
Fresh oil-rich fish: trout, salmon, mackerel, sardines and tuna. Canned fish in oils (excludes tuna); fortified products such as eggs, milk, yogurt
Wholegrain Enjoy wholegrain foods as part of a healthy lifestyle. 51% of the ingredients consist of wholegrains Bread and home baking, breakfast cereals (non sugar-coated)
