Register to shop online

To start shopping online at Waitrose, you’ll need to register with us. It’s quick and easy and enables you to use all the services available in your area.

The details you provide during registration will not be passed on to third parties, but may be used by the John Lewis Partnership to send you details about its products if you agree to receive this communication.

To register:

  • Click on Register on the top right of the homepage

Otherwise, you can browse the site and add items to your trolley. When you click out, you will be prompted to register.

It is best to register, login and pick a time slot before shopping, as this will mean that the products and offers you see will be applicable to the branch where your shopping will be picked, and valid on the date of your delivery or collection slot.l

When the registration form appears:

Complete My Login Details

  1. Enter your email address
    Type your email address in the box (this is not case-sensitive).
  2. Select a password
    You will need to choose a password to sign into the site. This needs to be a minimum of 8 characters long and must contain at least 1 number,

Complete My Contact Details & Address

  1. Enter your name
    Please enter your title, first name and last name into the relevant boxes.
  2. Enter your address
    Enter your postcode and click on ‘Find Address’
    You will be prompted to enter a nickname for your address e.g. ‘Home’ or ‘Work’
    Next select your address from the dropdown box, or select the link to enter it manually.
  3. Enter any special delivery/collection information
    If you have any specific directions or information for the delivery drivers or any collection information, please enter it in the textbox...
    Example: Please use side entrance down steps.
  4. Enter your daytime telephone number
    Please provide at least one telephone contact number, including the area code. This is in case we need to contact you about your order.

Complete My Public Profile

In order to make the most of our online community and forums, save recipes to your scrapbook, and access your My Waitrose account, you need to complete your public profile.

  1. Choose a screen name, this will identify you to other members when you’re online, so only use your real name if you’re happy for it to be made public.
  2. Introduce yourself and share your interests.
  3. Choose an avatar picture if you’d like one.

Sign up to receive special offers, savings and news

  1. Tick the relevant boxes for any offers or news you’d prefer not to receive.

Review the terms and conditions and make sure that you agree to them

  1. Select the link to view the terms and conditions. These explain the way we work, what to expect from us, and what we expect from you. If you do not agree with any of the terms and conditions, please contact Customer Sales & Support.

Click the ‘Save and Continue’ button

  1. Once you have completed the registration page, click on the ‘Save and Continue' button. You are now registered with Waitrose.com.

I'm already registered with another Waitrose website (e.g. Wines Direct). Do I still need to register here?

In order to personalise the Waitrose service and ensure that we offer you the best delivery or collection locations, we will need you to register your details on the site.

Browse without registering

To see how easy it is to shop online at Waitrose, why not browse the site before you register? Simply:

    Click on the Groceries tab at the top of the homepage.
    Lists of products available will appear, divided into areas such as ‘Fruit & Vegetables’ just like the aisles in our branches.

  1. Click on a heading, such as Salads to browse the aisle.
  2. Click on a specific shelf name to see a list of products, for example, Prepacked Salads.
  3. Click on a product name or imager to see more details about that item.

Remember, if you want to shop, you will need to register

Start shopping once you have registered

You can sign in and start shopping or book a delivery or collection slot as soon as you have registered.

To sign in:

  1. Click on the Login heading that appears at the top of every page. 
    A Login box will appear on the next page.
  2. Enter your email address.
  3. This should be the email address that you used when you registered with us.
  4. Enter your password.
    If you can't remember your password, click on Forgotten your login details? on the top right of the Login box.
  5. Click on the Login button next to the password box
    If you’ve entered your email address and password correctly, you will be taken back to our shopping pages.

If your email address or password do not match your registration details, an 'invalid' message will appear. If you think you’ve entered the correct email and password but you’re still receiving the 'invalid' message, please contact Customer Sales & Support.

Get help if you can't remember your password

If you can’t remember your password:

  1. Click on Forgotten your login details? on the top right of the Login box.
  2. Enter your email address and click Submit.
  3. You will be sent an email with a unique code to reset your password with.
  4. Retrieve the code from your email inbox and return to the site, to enter your code.
  5. Enter the code and click ‘Submit’. You will now be required to reset a new password.

If you don’t receive your unique code or if you experience any other problems, please contact Customer Sales & Support.

Use the unique code we send you by email

If you have requested an email containing a unique code because you have forgotten your password, these instructions tell you how to use this code to start using the site again.

  1. Click on the 'forgotten password?' link
  2. Enter your email address and submit. A unique code will be sent to your email address.
  3. Retrieve the code from your email inbox and return to the site.
  4. Enter the unique code
    Copy the unique code from the email and paste it into the box on the page.
  5. Click on the 'Submit' button
    If the code is valid, you will be directed to the Reset Password page.
  6. Enter and confirm your new password.
  7. Click Submit.
    Your new password will be saved and you can now use the site as normal.

Change your password

It's a good idea to change your password from time to time.

To change your password if you have not been sent a unique code:

  1. Sign in to Waitrose.com
    You will need to sign in before you can change your password.
  2. Click on the 'My Account' button at the top of the page
    You will see your personal and payment details page.
  3. Click on the 'My Login Details' link under the ‘My Details’ section
    A page will appear showing your login details.
  4. Enter your current password. Then choose a new password and re-enter it to confirm.
  5. Click on the 'Save' button at the bottom of the page
    Your new password will be saved.

Updating your personal details

To update your personal details:

  1. Click on My Account at the top of the page.
  2. Click on Personal Details in the My Details section.
  3. Do any changes you need to make.
  4. Click Save.
    Your new details will be updated.

Change your delivery addresses

To change your delivery address:

  1. Login to your account.
  2. Click on ‘My addresses’ in the ‘My details’ section.
  3. Click on the ‘Edit’ button below your current address.
  4. Click ‘Make this my default delivery address’ if this is to be your main address for delivery.
  5. Type in the full UK postcode.
  6. Select the full address from the list that appears or enter the address manually.
  7. Enter a phone number.
  8. Click ‘Save’.

Can I change or cancel an order once I have checked out?

You can change your order up until 11.45am the day before your delivery or collection date. Click on My Account in the top menu, and then on Current Orders to change the order, cancel it, or change the delivery/collection time.

To change the contents of your order, go to your Open Orders and simply click on the Order Number then click on Edit Order.

  • If you want to delete a product tick the box next to it on the left hand side and click on Save Changes. The product will now be deleted from your order.
  • To change the quantity of a product click the +/– button and then click on Save Changes. The new quantities will be added to your order.
  • To add a product click on Continue Shopping to shop in the normal way then click on Checkout and continue through the Checkout process. Your new products will be added to your existing order.

To change the delivery/collection time, go to your Open Orders and simply click on your existing delivery slot and then select a new slot. You do not need to save this as it will automatically update and your shopping will be delivered at your new time.

To cancel your order, go to you Open Orders and click on the order number, select Cancel Order then Yes to confirm. Your order will now be cancelled.

Cancel an order

Click on My Account in the top menu, and then on Current Orders. To cancel your order, go to you Open Orders and click on the order number, select Cancel Order then Yes to confirm. Your order will now be canceled.

Cancel an order that uses gift vouchers

If you cancel an order that you paid for in whole or in part by gift voucher(s), then a refund in gift vouchers, to the equivalent value, will be posted to you.

Saved shopping lists

Saved lists are an easy way to speed up your shopping. They allow you to:

  • Add products you buy regularly to a list, and save it
  • Add a list or lists to your trolley

You can set up lists of products you buy regularly and add them to your trolley in seconds. Lists can be set up for your weekly shop, for special occasions like Christmas or birthdays, or for specific purposes, for example 'kitchen & bathroom'.

Lists are very flexible, you can create a list, change a list and delete a list whenever you like. Once you’ve created a list, it can be reused again and again, adding those products to your trolley in seconds. You can use the list as it stands, or change it each time as required – it's up to you.

Tip: to speed up your shopping next time, save the contents of your trolley as a shopping list. This list can then be recalled at any time and instantly added to your trolley without the need to search for each item individually.

Create a list

To create a new list:

  1. Click ‘My account’
  2. Within My Shopping click ‘My Lists’
  3. Type a name in the ‘Create a new list called’ box
    Example: Weekly Shop
  4. Select the type of list from the dropdown menu...
    Blank allows you to create a new list that you can add to from scratch
    Current trolley contents to add the shopping you’ve just done
    Last order to add the products from your last order
    Previous order to choose from the orders you’ve placed in the past 12 months
    From another list to choose to copy a list you’ve already made into a new list
  5. Click ‘Create’

To create a list as you shop:

  1. Click on the product name to view its details
  2. Click on the ‘Add product to list’ symbol
  3. Create a new list or an existing list
  4. Click ‘Add to list’.
  5. A pop up will appear to confirm.

To create a list from your trolley:

  1. Click ‘View Trolley’
  2. Click ‘Add trolley to list’ below the promotion code box
  3. Create a new list or an existing list
  4. Click ‘Add to list’.
  5. A pop up will appear to confirm

Change a list

You may wish to add new products or remove others from your list.

  1. Click ‘My account’
  2. Within My Shopping click ‘My Lists’
  3. Select the list you want to change
  4. The contents of your list will be displayed.
  5. To delete select item and choose ‘Delete Selected’
  6. To change quantity use +/- buttons to add or reduce the amount
  7. When you’ve made your changes, click ‘Save list’

Delete a list

To delete a list:

  1. Click ‘My account’
  2. Within My Shopping click ‘My Lists’
  3. Go to the list you want to delete and click ‘Delete’
  4. A message will pop-up asking you if you’re sure you want to delete the list, if you do, click ‘Yes, delete’

Add the products in a list to your trolley

A great way to speed up the weekly shop – go to your list, add it to your trolley then go straight to the checkout!

To add the contents of a list to your trolley

  1. Click ‘My account’
  2. Within My Shopping click ‘My Lists’
  3. Go to the list you want to add and click the ’Add to trolley’ button
  4. Click ‘My Trolley’ at the top of the page to view and change any contents.

View an order

You can view an order at anytime, even after it has been delivered or cancelled.

To view an order:

  1. Click on 'My Account'
  2. Within My Shopping click on ‘Current Orders’ or ‘Previous Orders’ to find the order you want to view.
  3. Click on the order number to view in a new page.

Change the payment method of an order

We won’t take payment from your card until your order is packed and goes through checkout in the branch.

To change your payment details click on My Account in the top menu, then within My Details click on Payment Details & Billing Information.

To delete a card so that it is not saved in your account click on Delete above to your existing card details. Your card will now be deleted from your account.

  • To enter a new card simply complete the form and click on Save. Your new card details will automatically replace your previous card.
  • To edit your billing address enter you postcode beneath the ‘new card form’ click find address. Choose your house number and fill in any outstanding details

Change/add order comments

You can change your order up until 11.45 the day before your delivery or collection date. Click on My Account in the top menu, and then on Current Orders.

To add or change comments go to your Open Orders and simply click on the Order Number then click on the Comments section.

Add or change your comments then click on Save Changes.

Placing repeat orders

Shopping with us gets even easier once you’ve placed your first order with us. As you’ll probably need the same products regularly, you can use previous orders to create new orders in seconds!

All my products

It’s easy to view and re-order products you’ve previously bought online at Waitrose.

To view and re-order your products:

  1. Click on ‘My Account’ at the top of the page.
  2. Click on ‘My Products’ in the ‘My Shopping’ section
  3. View your products and add them individually to your latest order by clicking the Trolley icon or add them all at once by ticking ‘Select all products’ and clicking ‘Add selected to trolley’.
  4. You can shop in the usual way to add additional products to your trolley.

Previous orders

The "Previous orders" page lists your last five orders (placed within the past 12 months). You can browse these to choose individual items, or to add a whole order to your latest trolley.

To re-order items in a previous order:

  1. Click on ‘My Account’ at the top of the page.
  2. Click on ‘Previous Orders’ in the ‘My Shopping’ section
    Your last five orders will appear
  3. Click on a specific order to view products and add them to your latest order by clicking the Trolley icon or add them all at once by clicking ‘Select All’ products.
  4. You can then shop in the usual way to add new products to your trolley, or to find the items you only buy every few months.

You can also save each order, or part of it, as a list with another name, and alter it exactly to your requirements by removing or adding items. Find more about creating lists here.

Save your trolley as a list

Saving your trolley as a list before you check out is a good way of organizing your shopping. For example you could name your trolley ‘Regular Weekly Shop’ or ‘Drinks party’ so you can shop more easily next time. 

To save the contents of your trolley as a list before checking out:

  1. Click ‘View Trolley’ within the trolley module to the right of the page.
  2. Click ‘Add trolley to shopping list’ which appears below the ‘Promotional Code’ box
    A lists window will pop-up.
  3. Choose to add your trolley to an existing list or create a new list
    Either select the list name from the menu or type a new list name in the box at the top of the window
  4. Click the ‘Add to list’ button. A confirmation message will appear.

Create a list from a previous order

It’s easy and useful to create a list from an old order and ensures you keep a record of the order for as long as you want. (We only store your purchases in ‘Previous Orders’ for 12 months).

To create a list from a previous order:

  1. Click ‘My account’
  2. Within My Shopping click ‘Previous orders’
  3. Click on an order number to view the order
  4. Choose the select all tick box and click ‘Add selected to list’ option
  5. A pop up will appear, choose a name for a new list or add the products to an existing list
