Waitrose has been named Best Supermarket in the prestigious Which? Awards 2014.

Launched in 2007, the Which? Awards recognise and celebrate ‘the very best businesses in the UK that consistently get it right for consumers’. They are completely independent and the shortlist is chosen by Which? experts based on research, testing, Best Buys and feedback from Which? members and the general public.

The win for Waitrose follows recent success in the Verdict Retail Customer Satisfaction Awards in April, where Waitrose was named Best Food and Grocery Retailer, and in the Good Housekeeping Food Awards this month, where Waitrose was named Favourite Supermarket.

"The accolade - from such a respected consumer organisation - honours the work that our sixty thousand Partners do every day to ensure our customers get the best possible experience in our shops and online."

Mark Price, Waitrose managing director

When presenting Waitrose with the award, Peter Vicary-Smith, Which? Group Chief Executive, said: “ (Waitrose) provides excellent service along with good quality and value across its ranges and extremely helpful staff, and members say this makes it a joy to shop at.”

Waitrose managing director Mark Price said of the win: "The accolade - from such a respected consumer organisation - honours the work that our sixty thousand Partners do every day to ensure our customers get the best possible experience in our shops and online."
