In 2016 Waitrose stores will be supporting its cricket activity with a number of ways for customers to get involved
This year we are giving customers the chance to enter competitions to win England cricket tickets, exclusive experiences at the cricket and the chance to participate in local cricket events. We are bringing players from the England teams to stores local to cricket grounds giving customers the chance to meet our first-class players. Look out in store for your chance to get involved this summer.
Since partnering with the England Cricket teams Waitrose has run a number of initiatives to allow customers to benefit from the sponsorship at their local store. Throughout the 2014 cricketing summer Waitrose ran a promotion that gave customers who purchased an item from the Food To Go range the chance to enter a competition to win a pair of tickets to an England match. Promotional stickers were placed on seven million products and lucky winners were chosen at random to see England in action in Tests, One Day Internationals and Twenty20 matches. The same competition will be running throughout the 2015 cricket season and includes more products in the Food To Go range – so keep an eye out for the labelled products.
In 2014, £41,000 was raised for local cricket clubs and projects through the Waitrose Community Matters scheme. By placing the green token that you receive at the checkout (or online) into one of the specially selected collection boxes, you help support a number of charities and clubs in your neighbourhood. If you’re involved in cricket projects in your local community, please contact your nearest Waitrose to explore whether you can benefit from the Community Matters scheme. Alternatively, look out this summer for some specially selected cricket clubs that will feature in the Community Matters scheme and would welcome your support.
During the 2015 cricketing summer, Waitrose will also be bringing players from the England teams to stores local to cricket grounds to help create excitement around the matches they are playing in the UK. This will give you the opportunity to meet members of the cricket teams and even the chance to receive tickets for fixtures that are taking place in your area. In 2014, Heather Knight visited the Wootton and Kingsthorpe stores to promote England Women’s Twenty20 fixture against South Africa at Northamptonshire CCC, meeting customers and Waitrose Partners.
Waitrose is also looking to link up with some of its suppliers to offer customers promotions and competitions to add more delicious fun to the summer of cricket. It promises to be an exciting year so make sure you return to this page to find out how you can get involved in the England Cricket sponsorship in your local store.
