Preserving jar
A glass jar with a secure lid that is used to store preserves such as jams or chutneys. Preserving jars can be bought or glass food jars can be recycled and used for storing home-made preserves. Before use the jar must be sterilised to eliminate all contamination and ensure any traces of the previous contents are removed.
