Chinese Belly of Pork

A tasty midweek supper incorporating Waitrose Prime Belly of Pork

  • Total time: 2 hours

Serves: 4


  • 1 kg Waitrose Belly of Pork
    2 Tablespoon Soya sauce
    2 Tablespoon Honey
    2 Teaspoon Five Spice Powder.


  1. Mix together Soya sauce, honey and 5 spice powder into a paste. Set aside. Wipe dry pork joint. Sprinkle salt onto skin. Bake in preheated fan oven at 150c for 1 1/2 hours. Remove from oven and take off skin. Score fat in criss cross fashion and apply paste to fat. Raise oven temperature to 180c and cook pork for a further 30 mins, basting regularly. When finished drain off liquid and deglaze pan with white wine or water. Rest meat for 15 mins. Then cut into cubes and serve with deglazed sauce and stir fried vegetables.
