    Christmas Pudding 2

    There always seems to be space to squeeze in a portion of Christmas pudding, especially when it looks this tempting, with its jewel-like frosted cranberries piled on the top. Waitrose Richly Fruited Christmas Puddings are made earlier in the year, giving all the flavours time to mature. You can make the frosted cranberries the night before. Place on a plate with the rest of the cranberries, cover and store in a cool place until needed.

    • Fresh custard
    • 1.3kg Waitrose Richly Fruited Christmas Pudding
    • 50-75g fresh cranberries
    • 1 egg white
    • Pinch of Salt
    • 50g caster sugar


    1. Cook a 1.3kg Waitrose Richly Fruited Christmas Pudding according to the pack instructions, then transfer to a warm serving plate. Take 50-75g fresh cranberries and dip half of them in egg white that has been lightly beaten with a pinch of salt, then roll in 50g caster sugar.
    2. Arrange all the berries on top of the pudding and serve immediately, with your choice of fresh custard or one of our range of flavoured butters, creams and sauces (brandy or Cointreau), all available from the chiller cabinet.

    Serving tips

    After pudding, finish the Christmas meal with a cup of sweet and strong Fazenda Transwal, a well-rounded, lively coffee from Brazil, and the Waitrose Mini Mince Pie Selection, which can be found in the bakery section. These miniature mince pies have four different toppings: pecan; streusel; cherry and almond; or shortcrust pastry star.
