    Classic Pancakes

    A simple pancake recipe that cooks in moments and can be served with lemon, sugar, jam, treacle or whatever you like!

    • Total time: 10 minutes

    Serves: 6


    • 2 eggs
      110g / 4oz plain flour
      200ml / 7fl oz milk (dilute with water up to 30% to taste)
      50g / 2oz butter
      a pinch of salt


    1. Sift the flour and salt into a mixing bowl
    2. Break the eggs into the flour and beat the mixture well
    3. Gradually add small quantities of the milk, whisk/beat to make a smooth batter
    4. Heat a little oil in a large frying pan until hot and then pour enough batter to thinly coat the base of the pan.
    5. Cook for a couple of minutes each side (toss, flip or turn dependant on your prefered cooking method).
