    Eggy cheesy toasties

    • Preparation time: 5 minutes
    • Cooking time: 15 minutes
    • Total time: 20 minutes 20 minutes

    Serves: 4

    30g unsalted butter, softened
    8 slices crusty white bread
    150g comté, thinly sliced
    3 eggs
    2 tbsp milk

    1. Butter the bread and make 4 cheese sandwiches. Beat the eggs and milk in a shallow bowl and season. Clamp the sandwiches between tongs or hold them tight and dip into the egg mixture, making sure the bread is well soaked.

    2. Heat the remaining butter in a pan on a low heat. Fry the sandwiches for 5-6 minutes each side (you may have to do this in batches, adding a little more butter to the pan) until the bread is golden and the cheese has melted. Enjoy as a breakfast dish or with a salad for lunch.
