Homemade tomato sauce

a nice easy sauce to go on top of some plain old pasta

  • Total time: 1 to 1 1/2 hours

Serves: 5


  • tomato passata
    2 onions
    1 garlic clove
    a big frying pan
    some salt and pepper
    boiling water
    stock cube


  1. dice the garlic and onions and let them fry until soft
  2. next add the tomato passata trying hard not to splatter it then add half a pint or more of water
  3. after that put the lid on top and leave for 1/2 an hour
  4. when you come back - add more water if it has evaporated - put in a pinch of salt and pepper and half a stock cube dissolved in a mug of hot water
  5. fini
