    Hot Apple Juice Spiked with Ginger

    • Preparation time: 10 minutes, plus 1 hour standing time
    • Cooking time: 10 to 15 minutes
    • Total time: 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 25 minutes 60 minutes 25 minutes

    Serves: 8

    Ingredients

    • 2 small red apples
    • pared rind of 1 lemon
    • 5cm piece fresh root ginger, peeled and thinly sliced
    • 2 x 1 litre cartons of Waitrose Pure Apple Juice

    Method

    1. Put 2 x 1 litre cartons of Waitrose Pure Apple Juice, a 5cm piece fresh root ginger, peeled and thinkly sliced, and the pared rind of 1 lemon in a large jug and leave for about 1 hour. Pour the mixture into a saucepan and place over a moderate heat for 10-15 minutes to heat through, without boiling. Place 2 small red apples, thinly sliced, into the bottom of a heatproof jug and strain in the apple juice. Serve hot.
