    Hot Chocolate Sauce

    • Vegetarian

    Serves: 8


    • 50g butter
    • 50g dark chocolate, in pieces
    • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
    • 125g soft brown sugar
    • 200ml evaporated milk
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract


    1. Melt the butter and chocolate together in a pan over a gentle heat. Add the cocoa powder and sugar and beat until smooth. Slowly pour in the evaporated milk, stirring all the time, then stir in the vanilla extract. Bring to the boil then turn down the heat and simmer for 1 minute. Remove from the heat. Serve straight away or leave to cool and reheat later. This can be stored in the fridge for up to 1 month.
