    Lamb burgers with houmous

    • Preparation time: 10 minutes
    • Cooking time: 10 minutes
    • Total time: 20 minutes

    Serves: 4

    Ingredients

    • 500g essential Waitrose lamb mince
    • 1 small onion, peeled and grated
    • 1 egg yolk
    • ½ tsp dried mint
    • 1-2 tbsp essential Waitrose olive oil
    • 200g essential Waitrose houmous
    • 1 essential Waitrose little gem lettuce

    Method

    1. In a medium-sized bowl, gently combine the lamb, grated onion, egg yolk, dried mint, salt and pepper. Test the burger mix for taste by frying a walnut-sized piece of it, and season further if necessary. Shape the mixture into four patties.
    2. Warm the olive oil in a frying pan over a medium-high heat and fry the patties for about 5 minutes per side, in batches if necessary.
    3. Serve with toasted crusty rolls; place a burger in a roll, spoon some houmous over the burger, then top with lettuce. Serve immediately.
