    Masala Dal with Crispy Onions

    • Preparation time: 10 minutes
    • Cooking time: 10 minutes
    • Total time: 20 minutes 20 minutes

    Serves: 8

    Ingredients

    • 2 x 300g packs Waitrose Masala Dal
    • 1 small onion
    • 3 tbsp vegetable oil

    Method

    1. Heat Waitrose Masala Dal according to the pack instructions. Meanwhile, cut onion in half, then slice into thin half rings.
    2. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan, add the onions and fry over a medium heat for about 10 minutes, stirring all the time until the onions are crisp and evenly browned. Drain on kitchen paper. Spoon the dal into a serving dish and scatter with the onions.
