    Minty Cider Cup

This drink is adapted to be suitable for both adults and children. Sparkling apple juice is always popular with children, and it's an excellent base as a cider cup for the adults. Chill the drinks before you set off, and keep them cool in insulated sleeves.

    Serves: 4

    • 1 eating apple
    • A few fresh mint sprigs
    • 2 x 75cl bottles Waitrose Sparkling English Apple Juice with Ginger
    • 1 x 500ml bottle (or 2 bottles, if you've time for a siesta afterwards) Waitrose Vintage English Cider

    1. Cut the apple into chunks and divide among 4 tall tumblers with the mint.
    2. Fill with apple juice for the children, then mix approximately equal quantities of apple juice and cider for the adults. Stir well before drinking.

    Cook's tips

For a variation, you could use sparkling grape juice for the children or a sparkling rosé wine for the adults, with sliced grapes or strawberries.
