    Orange and Ginger Wine Spritzer

    • Vegetarian
    • Preparation time: 15 minutes, plus chilling
    • Total time: 15 minutes, plus chilling 15 minutes

    Serves: 6 - 8

    Ingredients

    • 200g granulated sugar
    • 750ml bottle dry white wine
    • 200ml brandy
    • 5cm root ginger, peeled and sliced
    • Zest of 3 oranges, removed in slivers with a potato peeler
    • Soda water, to top up

    Method

    1. Put the sugar and 100ml water in a pan. Bring to a simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the sugar dissolves. Cool. Add the wine, brandy, ginger and orange zest. Chill for 24 hours so the flavours blend. Strain into a jug. Half-fill Champagne flutes with the mix, top with soda and serve.
