    Pears Baked with Honey and Spices

    Ingredients

    • 4 Conference pears
    • 4 tbsp Waitrose Honey Turkish Pine Forest
    • 1 tbsp golden caster sugar
    • 300ml water
    • 1 cinnamon stick
    • 4 cloves
    • 4 cardamom pods
    • 1 star anise

    Method

    1. Preheat the oven to 200°C, gas mark 6. Peel and trim the base of 4 Conference pears and arrange in a baking dish. In a saucepan, heat together 4 tbsp Waitrose Honey Turkish Pine Forest, 1 tbsp golden caster sugar and 300ml water.
    2. Bring to the boil and boil for 2 minutes. Pour over the pears. Add 1 cinnamon stick, broken up, 4 cloves, 4 cardamom pods and 1 star anise. Bake in the oven for 1 hour or until tender, turning the pears over in the syrup from time to time. Remove the pears and keep warm.
    3. Transfer the honey syrup to a saucepan and boil for 2 or 3 minutes until reduced and thickened. Drizzle with the syrup and serve with cream.
