Seriously Chocolatey Eton Jumble

A Perfectly layered dessert (despite the name!) Starting at the bottom with a rich,smooth brownie base, followed in the middle by a light creamy baked cheesecake , and topped with a pink eton mess cream : rich in strawberrys and topped with meringue. This gives a colourful triple tiered desert consisting of dark brown, golden cream and pink. The taste is rich but light, and consists of three of the most seriously yummy desserts ever : Brownie, cheesecake and eton mess!

What makes it the ultimate summer Seriously From Waitrose dessert?

It combines the most delicious tastes from a trio of favourite classic desserts, whilst staying light and summery. It is Seriously Morish as it is Chocolatey, creamy AND fruity, everyone's desert tastes are satisfied!


  • Makes 10 squares

    Brownie base:
    200g dark chocolate
    200g unsalted butter
    250g icing sugar (or caster)
    3 eggs
    110g plain flour

    Cheesecake middle:
    425g creamcheese
    165g Icing sugar (or caster)
    2 eggs
    1 tsp vanilla extract

    Eton mess topping:

    250ml Whipping cream
    300g strawberries
    With meringue crumbled on top (homemade or could be bought!)

    3 egg whites
    175g caster sugar
    1/2 tsp vanilla extract
    1/2 tsp white wine vinegar
    1 tsp cornflour


  1. 1. Preheat oven to Gas Mark 3 (170 degrees C, 325 F) 2.Brownie base:Melt Chocolate. Cream Butter and Sugar. Add Eggs gradually. Beat in flour gradually until a smooth mix is created.Stir into melted chocolate. Pour into prepared baking tray (25 x17.5x 6.5cm) Cheesecake middle : Whisk cream cheese and sugar.Mix in eggs and vanilla. Spoon on top of brownie.AND Bake for 50 minutes until set, but still with a slight wobble .Etonmess topping :Whisk the cream +chopped strawberries, top with meringue
