A refreshing cake made with Quark, Apples, Sultanas and a lemon twist

What makes it the ultimate summer Seriously From Waitrose dessert?

A tasty, refreshing and fullfilling summer treat complementing Waitrose quality deserts.

    • 1kg quark
      125g margarine
      180g sugar
      4 eggs
      1 packet vanilla sugar
      2 tbsp selmolina
      4 tsp baking powder
Juice and grated peel of 1 lemon
      125g sultanas
3-4 apples (I use golden delicious)
1 packet vanilla pudding pulver (obtainable from Dr Oetker)

    1. Mix all ingredients together, except the apples, with an electric mixer. Peel the apples and then cut into approx. 1cm chunks. Fold under the cake mixture. Empty mixture into a 26cm diameter spring form. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 200 degrees C for 1-1.5hrs until golden brown on top. Notes: Time of baking depends on the oven type. The cake can be frozen without loosing its taste, eat only when completely cooled down. Best eaten when slightly chilled in the fridge (approx. 20 minutes).
