    Smoked Salmon Pâté

    • Preparation time: 5 minutes plus 1 hour chilling
    • Total time: 10 minutes plus 1 hour chilling 5 minutes

    Serves: 4 as a starter


    • 150g waitrose scottish smoked salmon tsar fillet
    • 3 roughly chopped salad onions
    • 15g pack of chives
    • juice of ½ a lemon
    • 200g pack of soft cheese
    • season with black peppers
    • salad leaves
    • 4 slices crust bread lemon wedges


    1. Heat a non-stick frying pan, place a 150g Waitrose Scottish Smoked Salmon Tsar Fillet in the base and heat gently for 3-4 minutes on each side until the salmon flakes easily. Remove from the pan and leave to cool. Place in a food processor with 3 roughly chopped salad onions, a 15g pack chives, snipped, the juice of ½ lemon and a 200g pack light soft cheese.
    2. Season with plenty of ground black pepper and pulse a few times until the mixture is fairly smooth. Transfer to a bowl, cover with clingfilm and chill for about 1 hour. Serve with extra wedges of lemon, salad leaves and crusty bread.
