    Stir fried beef noodles with green beans

    Strips of essential Waitrose British beef rump steak are perfect in this gluten-free recipe

    • 1 tsp chinese five spice
    • ½ tbsp cornflour
    • 1 pack essential Waitrose British beef rump steak, about 440g, cut into strips
    • 4 tbsp Clearspring Organic Japanese Tamari Soya Sauce
    • 1 tbsp essential Waitrose pure clear honey
    • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
    • 200g fine green beans, trimmed and cut into 3cm lengths
    • 600g rice noodles, cooked


    1. Combine the five spice and cornfl our in a large bowl and use to coat the beef pieces. Season. Combine the tamari sauce and honey with 4 tbsp water; set aside.
    2. Heat the oil in a wok or large frying pan until smoking hot, then add the beef pieces. Stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until golden; add the beans and fry for another minute. Pour in the tamari mixture and give it a good stir, then add the noodles and toss until heated through. Serve with lime wedges.

    Unlike other soy sauces that contain wheat, tamari is made from fermented soya bean paste and is naturally gluten-free.
