Toasted Waffles with Ice Cream and Chocolate Sauce

This dark chocolate sauce goes well with most ice cream flavours - so choose your favourite.

    • Preparation time: 10 minutes

    Serves: 4

    • 500ml tub Waitrose Vanilla Ice Cream
    • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
    • 2 tbsp brown soft sugar
    • 2 tbsp golden syrup or clear honey
    • 4 tbsp cocoa powder
    • 1 pack Jagdfeld Soft Waffles

    1. Take the ice cream tub out of the freezer and leave to soften for about 10 minutes at room temperature.
    2. Meanwhile, melt the butter in a frying pan with the sugar and the syrup or honey over a medium heat. Stir in the cocoa powder and 4-6 tablespoons of cold water. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3 minutes, stirring until smooth.
    3. Toast the waffles according to the pack instructions or use straight from the pack. Cut them in half diagonally then serve with a couple of scoops of ice cream, returning any unused ice cream to the freezer afterwards. Pour the hot chocolate sauce over the waffles and serve immediately.
