    Treasure Trove

    This 'treasure trove' cake is so quick and easy - a great one for getting the kids involved.

    Ingredients

    • Marcona almond paste or Waitrose Golden Marzipan
    • 125g Tate and Lyle Royal Icing Sugar
    • 2 tablespoons cold water
    • 1 teaspoon glycerine
    • Gold and silver chocolate coins

    Method

    1. Top the cake with the Marcona almond paste or Waitrose Golden Marzipan. Mix together 125g Tate and Lyle Royal Icing Sugar with 2 tablespoons cold water and 1 teaspoon glycerine to make royal icing. Using a palette knife, roughly ice the cake, then decorate with gold and silver chocolate coins. When the icing has set, secure a ribbon around the sides of the cake.
