    Turkish Red Beets

    Like those in neighboring Greece, many Turkish salads use yogurt to add a tangy flavour to dishes. After all, yogurt has a much older heritage in the Aegean than lemon does.

    Serves: 4

    Ingredients

    • 500g precooked beetroot
    • 5 garlic cloves, crushed
    • ½ tsp caster sugar
    • 2 tbsp red wine vinegar
    • 150g Greek yogurt

    Method

    1. Grate the beetroot into a salad bowl. Mix together a large pinch of salt, along with the other ingredients, and season to taste.
