    Walnut and Rye Bread with Cheese, Pears and Honeyed Figs

    Ingredients

    • 3 ripe pears
    • 2-3 dried, honeyed figs
    • 1 slice hard, flavoursome cheese, such as Lord of the Hundreds, Beaufort, Emmental or Machego.
    • 1 slice or two or rye and walnut bread

    Method

    1. Make 3 ripe pears and halve lengthways. Cut each half into 3 long slices.
    2. Arrange the slices on 6 individual plates, alongside 2-3 dried, honeyed figs and a large slice of a hard, flavoursome cheese, such as Lord of the Hundreds, Beaufort, cave-aged Emmental or Manchego. Add a slice or two of rye and walnut bread and serve.
