    Wild Lime Braised Chicken

    The flavour of Australia is captured in the Merchant Gourmet's range of sauces. The chicken absorbs the pungent flavours of the Wild Lime, Honey and Soy Sauce.

    • Preparation time: 10 minutes
    • Cooking time: 30 minutes
    • Total time: 40 minutes 40 minutes

    Serves: 4


    • 2 packs Waitrose 4 British Chicken Thighs, skinned
    • 4 tbsp Merchant Gourmet Wild Lime, Honey and Soy Sauce
    • 300g tub Joubère Fresh Chicken Stock
    • ½ tsp Chinese 5 Spice powder
    • 4 tbsp mirin, saki or medium dry sherry
    • 200g bag Waitrose Pak Choi, cut into short lengths
    • To serve
    • Salad onions
    • Chilli
    • Chopped basil
    • A few chopped tomatoes
    • Plain boiled rice


    1. Place the chicken in a wide, shallow pan with the sauce, stock, spice and mirin, saki or sherry. Bring to the boil and simmer gently for 30 minutes.
    2. Steam the pak choi over the chicken or separately for the final 4-5 minutes of cooking until softened but still crunchy.
    3. Divide the chicken between serving bowls, add the garnish, and serve with the Chinese pak choi and rice.
