We offer a high quality of services and we think you can save money if you switch your broadband service to Waitrose.com. Switching providers via a process called 'migration' means that you can change providers without having to go without broadband. In order to migrate your broadband service to us you will need a MAC (Migration Authorisation Code). We accept MACs from all non-cable Internet Service Providers.
To migrate to Waitrose.com, please follow these simple steps:
- Request a MAC from your current provider and enquire how to stop the billing on your account after you've migrated away. It's important that you don't tell them to cancel the service immediately. MACs must be used within 30 days of being issued.
- Sign up for Waitrose.com Broadband. When you do, our systems will automatically detect that you already have broadband installed on your line and prompt you for the MAC. Please enter it and complete your order. Don't worry if you don't have a MAC at that time, you're able to proceed with your order and email it to us later.
- You will receive an email from us confirming your order. It will take us approximately 7 days to switch your broadband service over to Waitrose.com. You will still have broadband through the provider that you are leaving until we switch you over to our network.
Your current provider must supply you with a MAC on request within 5 working days and is not allowed to charge for issuing a MAC. If you are not able to obtain a MAC from your current ISP and they are not able to give you a good reason for this, you should contact Ofcom, the independent regulator and competition authority for the UK communications industries. More information about the MAC migration scheme is available from the Ofcom website.
Due to the nature of their services, cable broadband providers are unable to participate in the migration scheme. If you are with a cable provider who cannot supply you with a MAC, please contact us and we can discuss the best way of switching providers.
