Angels and Devils on Horseback

"I like to serve these moreish little savouries to accompany the game pie, but they also make wonderful pre-dinner nibbles, and in the case of the devils, are a great snack on buttered toast (at any time of day...)."

Cooking time : 6 minutes
Total time : 26 minutes

Makes: 18 of each

Ingredients

Angels
18 oysters, removed from their shells
9 rashers smoked streaky bacon, halved

Devils
9 unsmoked streaky bacon rashers
3 tbsp mango chutney
18 soft d'Agen prunes

Method

  1. Angels
Sprinkle an oyster with white pepper and wrap in a piece of bacon. Fix securely with a toothpick, or thread several onto skewers. Grill for about 3 minutes on each side, until the bacon has cooked.
  2. Devils
