Product Summary

This unique little gem of a soft cows milk cheese is made in the same town of St Marcellin since 1912. It has a distinctly winey flavour which develops as it ripens, with a smooth firm centre and soft outer edge.

These small discs of young, tender cheese are hand salted and then matured before being placed in terracotta dishes to ripen. As the cheese matures the runniness increases.

The cheese is named after the place of its origin - St Marcellin, a quiet little village in the valley of the River Isere, which runs from the Alps down to the Rhone. It is about 65 miles south of Lyon, a place that you can easily visit on a trip to the South of France.
