Preparation & Storage


  • Serving Suggestions: Edamame are a tasty and refreshing appetiser, and a great accompaniment to beer. Commonly eaten salted, the beans are popped out with fingers to eat. You can also enjoy these Edamame by frying from frozen (with the pod intact) in a wok with a little vegetable oil, lime and salt. Chilli may be added when cooking if you prefer it hot! Note: The pods are not for eating, only the beans!

Per 500g packet.


From Frozen
The cooking times below are for a 700 watt microwave oven. Adjust cooking time as necessary for a different power microwave. Rinse Edamame in cold water and drain. Place in microwave safe container (Do not add water), cover and cook for the following:To eat it cold; approx 2-3 mins.To eat it warm; approx 6 mins.Drain and season with salt (optional).


From Frozen
Bring 6 cups of water to the boil in a large saucepan.Add Frozen Edamame and 1/2 teaspoon of salt (optional).Return to the boil. Cook for 3 1/2 minutes. Do not cover.Rinse with cold running water to cool.Drain and season with salt (optional).


Keep frozen at -18°C.
