- NotesReactive this yeast in water before you use it.It is only suitable for hand baking, so if you're using a bread maker, try our Easy Bake Yeast instead.650g (1lb 5oz) of flour usually requires 15g (1/2oz) or one level tablespoon of Dried Active Yeast.Directions1. In a 600ml (1 pint) jug, dissolve 5ml (1 tsp) of sugar in 150ml (1/4 pint) of warm water (1 part boiling, 2 parts cold).2. Sprinkle with 15g (1/2 oz or 1 level tbsp) of yeast and whisk thoroughly.3. Leave in a warm place until the surface is covered with froth (takes approx. 15 mins).4. Whisk again and use as directed in your recipe.Fresh YeastIf your recipe tells you to use fresh yeast, just replace it with half the quantity of Allinson's Dried Active Yeast.Not recommended for use in Bread Makers
Store in a cool dry place. Once opened use within 2 months.Please re-seal carefully after use.
