Intense flavours of plum and cassis fruit with underlying coffee, chocolate and leather. Fresh fruit flavours combine with savoury tannin and oak characters to provide a long warm finish and persistent fruit notes. Brancott Estate wines are considered the benchmark of New Zealand varietal winemaking and have an international reputation for quality and consistency. The wines are crafted in a style that epitomises the unique character and flavour of the growing region. Grapes for Montana Merlot-Cabernet were harvested from the Hawkes Bay region of the North Island of New Zealand. The fruit was cold soaked to assist colour extraction prior to and post fermentation using selected yeast strains. A combination of new and 1-4 yr old French and American oak barrels were used for maturation creating balance of flavours and tannins.
