  • Shopping List. 1 sachet Colman's Sausage Casserole Recipe Mix. 1 tbsp cooking oil. 450g (1lb) sausages. 2 medium sized onions, sliced. 115g (4oz) mushrooms, sliced. 1 red pepper, sliced (optional). 300ml (1/2 pint) cold water. How to Cook: 1. Pre-heat the oven to 180°C, 350°F, Gas Mark 4 (170°C for fan assisted). 2. Fry the sausages until brown. Add the onion and cook for a further 3-4 minutes, until softened. 3. Transfer to an ovenproof casserole dish with the other vegetables. Blend the contents of the sachet with the water and add to the dish. 4. Stir thoroughly, cover and cook for 1 hour. 5. Ensure piping hot and serve immediately with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Why Not Try... Bangers 'n' Beans. For a tasty twist on this family favourite just add a can of baked beans and a dash or Worcestershire/brown sauce for the last 5 minutes of cooking.
