Kick start your day with these light, crispy, sustaining cereal flakes. They are made with rice and buckwheat (no relation to ordinary wheat) and are surprisingly low in fat. Grains are complex carbohydrates which your body uses to generate energy. 'I'm an organic farmer and, like colleagues in other countries, follow international organic rules. Rice is the staple for nearly half the world's population and is grown on every continent. Long and short grain varieties grow in conditions ranging from flooded paddy fields to dry uplands. Italy is the rice basket of Europe and the source of our rice, where it is grown by dedicated organic farmers. The triangular dark brown buckwheat seed is a member of the rhubarb family and is unconnected to wheat. It grows to a metre in height, producing small pink to white flowers in late summer. Preparation & Storage
- Eating Cereal FlakesJust add chilled milk of any kind. Add a few pomegranate seeds or other fruit to your flakes. On a cold day serve with hot chocolate milk. Add cereal flakes to melted plain chocolate to make crunch cakes.
