Treat your mum to one of these gorgeous flower arrangements on Sunday 26 March.
Make your mum feel really special on Mother's Day by putting together a bouquet or posy yourself with pretty spring flowers. These arrangements look fantastic and are all easy to assemble. Use ribbons and bows – and even feathers – as finishing touches.
Flower power
Tie together tulips and spring foliage with raffia or ribbon. Or add feathers for extra colour and texture.
Hyacinth bouquet
Arrange a selection of hyacinths, tulips and foliage then tie together with raffia. Put in a watertight container with fresh clean water. Place it, along with chocolates or other treats, in a decorative basket, lined with straw or raffia. This arrangement, with its chocolate mini eggs, would make a lovely Easter gift, too.
Take a bow
Cover a plain glass vase with stripy material and secure with double-sided tape or clear glue. Tie a length of wired gift ribbon in a bow around the middle. Fill the vase with freesias, miniature daffodils and other
spring flowers. Or you can tie ribbons to cover a tall glass vase containing tulips, forsythia and foliage.
Tip
To prolong the life of cut flowers, slice about 3cm off the end of the stems, then plunge into fresh water. Display in a cool but bright place.
