Wine of Chile. Red Chilean Wine. Vineyard: All four varieties in this blend were grown in hillside parcels of our Max Vineyards in the Valle de Aconcagua, where the combination of soil and climate lead to perfect ripeness. Winemaking: Hand-picked and rigourously selected grapes went into the find blend of Syrah (45%), Cabernet Franc (30%), Carmenère (20%), and Rousanne (5%). Character: Fresh red fruits and spice appear on the nose and palate, where firm and lively tannins team up with nervy acidity and sturdy structure for a lusciously persistent wine with a long life ahead. The Blend 2007 was handcrafted with what I consider to be the best selection of grapes of the vintage. The Blend combines varieties that originated in diverse wine regions, such as Cabernet Franc from Bordeaux, Syrah and Rousanne from the Rhone Valley, and Chile's own Carmenère to make this wine truly unique.
