East End Sultana Golden
Suitable for vegetarians. Golden sultanas. Generating from the grape family, the sultana is a seedless dried grape. The golden sultana undergoes various washing processes and eventually dry heated to provide the golden yellow colour. They can be used in many sweet and savoury dishes.
Preparation & Storage
- Rice Pudding300g (10oz) East End Rice1.5 litres (21/2 pints) fresh milk75ml (3fl 0z) condensed milk75g (3oz) sugar1 tsp ground cardamomPinch of saffron75g/3oz East End Almonds, chopped75g/3oz East End Golden SultanasWash the rice and drain thoroughly. Bring the milk to the boil and add the rice. Reduce heat and allow to simmer for 10 minutes. Add the condensed milk and stir until liquid has reduced by half. Add the cardamom, saffron, sultanas and chopped almonds. Continue to stir until mixture is thick. Transfer to individual bowls. When cool, place in refrigerator for 1 hour before serving. Serves 4.
Once opened store contents in an airtight container under cool, dry conditions.
