Preparation & Storage
- To make strawberry jam.1kg fresh strawberries, washed, drained and hulled.1kg Tate&Lyle Sugars Fairtrade Jam Sugar.Juice of 1 lemon.Put the strawberries and lemon juice into a large heavy saucepan, heat for a few minutes to soften. Add the jam sugar and stir until dissolved, then boil steadily for about 6 minutes, or until setting point is reached (To test for the setting point place a teaspoon of jam onto a cold plate, leave a few seconds, push the jam with a finger, if the surface wrinkles, setting point has been reached).Allow to stand for 15 minutes and remove the film from the surface with a slotted spoon. Stir jam and carefully pour into sterilised jars, cover, label and date.
