Enjoy Scottish ingredients

With lush, fertile countryside and clear costal waters, there's an an abundance of delicious food and drink produced in Scotland.

Jersey Royals

Prized for their waxy texture, paper-thin skin and sweet, earthy flavour, Scottish Ayrshire potatoes have just arrived on the shelves. So what’s the secret to these extra-delicious potatoes?

Ayrshire is ideal for growing early potatoes because the south west coast benefits from the warming waters of the Gulf Stream. Ayrshires are grown in sandy soil that warms up quickly in the springtime to allow planting in February and March. The region then receives reliable rainfall from March to May, which is critical. Only available for a few months a year, they're not around for long so enjoy them while you can.
