Fudge

Fudge

A rich sweet made from sugar, milk and butter, fudge has a creamy smooth texture and a light brown colour. It is sold cut into pieces and can either be left plain or flavoured with a variety of different ingredients, including chocolate, nuts, coconut, mint, coffee or vanilla. Fudge is sold in Waitrose in packets and also in the pick and mix sweet selection.

Uses: Fudge is a popular sweet and delicious eaten on its own. It can also be melted, over a very gentle heat, with a little butter, to make a quick and easy sauce to top ice cream or fruit - it is especially good poured over chocolate ice cream and bananas.

To store: Keep in a cool, dry, dark place.
